CHANEL issued two eyeshadow quads for 2020 Spring-Summer Collection: 354 Warm Memories and 352 Elemental. Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow palettes always look like a good investment: four colors for $62 without tax which makes it cost less than $16 per each. Money well spent if you use it a lot. Which quad is worth buying?
CHANEL Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quad 352 Elemental look like a neutral nude palette. I hesitated to buy it because I don’t want another neutral beige palette that is going to sit in my closet! But when I tried 352 Elemental quad, I discovered the colors to come up very originally. I don’t really have anything like that.
Chanel eyeshadow quad 352 Elemental swatches (from left to right): shimmery cool-toned brown, shimmery sand, light taupe and matte peach.
Let’s start from the lightest color: it looks like a matte beige, but it’s actually light taupe which produced a very sophisticated effect on my lids. Next is a matte peach that looks amazing in the crease! To complete the look, I have a choice of two colors for eyeliners: shimmery sand and shimmery cool-toned brown. The darker colors can be also used all over the lid to create an evening dramatic look.
For my lips, I used Chanel Rouge Allure 91 Seduisante. To read the article about this lipstick, please click here
Chanel Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quad 354 Warm Memories looked like fun to me, because I love the idea of mixing shimmery orange and dark taupe/mauve colors. But 354 Warm Memories turned out to be too red for me. Yes, yes! It may not look reddish from the pictures, but it showed up much warmer when applied.
Let me give you the list of 354 Warm Memories palette colors (from right to left): shimmery orange, shimmery warm brown, matte brown-red and dark shimmery burgundy. In the sunlight, the colors look warmer.
In the shade, 354 Warm Memories swatches look cooler and more identical to the palette.
Unfortunately, red colors make my eyes tired, so I have to skip Chanel Eyeshadows Quad 354 Warm Memories. Or should I keep it? What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
