Chanel makeup palette is always a good deal because you can get several makeup products for less money! Chanel Camélias D’Eau Lip Palette contains four bright lip colors that look similar to iconic Chanel lipsticks. For the price of $60 without tax, you get four lipsticks (less amount of product though) for only $15 per each!
As always Chanel Camélias D’Eau Lip Palette packaging looks fabulous! Just opening it gives you a luxury feeling. The model in the video at Chanel official website says: ‘It’s so precious, I’m afraid to touch it!’ This is exactly how I feel about it))
A lipstick in the shape of Camellia flower is a wicked way to seduce a worldly-wise customer. Bright pink and red shades correspond to Camellia flower variations.
The brush can be put together with a cup to make it longer and more convenient.
That’s how the colors look when you open the palette. Meanwhile, on Chanel website the colors are listed in a different order. I turned the picture, so you can see it better.
Exaltée – A bright pink raspberry (Bottom Left)
New Prodigious – An iridescent rosewood (Bottom Right)
Palpitante – A pink red (Top Right)
Fougueuse – A pink with subtle fuchsia flecks (Top Left)
On the swatches, they all look almost the same! Let’s start from New Prodigious (iridescent rosewood) on the left.
On my lips, New Prodigious looks more like a soft plum than rosewood. I’m not a fan of shimmer, but some very subtle gold shimmer in that shade didn’t bother me. New Prodigious definitely reminds me of Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick 178 New Prodigious.
I was surprised how the lipstick application was complicated! The texture is very sheer, almost like a lip gloss. I had to apply the product 3 times to achieve that bright color. Maybe it’s the brush? A few days later I tried it with a different brush and worked fabulously! I had to apply the lipstick just once to achieve the full coverage.
But once I applied New Prodigious shade and the color settled down on my lips, it became very convenient to wear. The lipstick didn’t bleed and stayed on my lips until I got my cup of coffee. It felt more like a lip stain but without drying out.
The next shade is Fougueuse – a pink with subtle fuchsia flecks. I would say it’s bright hot pink without shimmer. I found a Camellia flower that corresponds to that shade.
Fougueuse reminds me of Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick 138 Fougueuse and Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick 337 Camélia Rose.
The only red shade in Chanel Camélias D’Eau Lip Palette turned out to be red-pink without shimmer. Palpitante looks like orange-red in the packaging, but on my lips, it turned into cool-toned red. Of course, it looks very similar to Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick 102 Palpitante. Here’s Camellia flower this shade was inspired by.
Palpitante is my favorite shade from Chanel Camélias D’Eau Lip Palette.
The last shade Exaltée is a bright pink raspberry without shimmer. Very feminine color! It reminds me of Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick 93 Exaltée.
My verdict is: Chanel Camélias D’Eau Lip Palette is worth paying $60! Because you get four bright feminine lip colors that are new variations of four classic Chanel lipsticks: Chanel Rouge Allure 178 New Prodigious, Chanel Rouge Allure 138 Fougueuse, Chanel Rouge Allure 102 Palpitante and Chanel Rouge Allure 93 Exaltée.
The brush that comes with palette is not good for the product. You need to apply it 3 times to achieve full coverage. I would recommend using a different brush. Once the color sets on your lips, it’s very comfortable to wear! Long-lasting indeed.
