Do I need another natural colors eyeshadow palette? Yves Saint Laurent is trying to convince me with a beautiful slogan: ‘From pale to deep and matte to shimmery, create infinite signature eye looks’. Or maybe I have enough of beige, brown, peach and pink eyeshadows?
In one of my recent YouTube videos, I was complaining about the Chanel Les Indispensables Palette that it doesn’t have many shimmery colors. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that I dislike heavy shimmer in lipsticks. Meanwhile, when it comes to eyeshadows, I do enjoy fine shimmer (nothing crazy of course).
The long, sleek couture case gave me a luxury feeling. It’s very economical in terms of taking space in my purse. However, the price is not so economical – $95 without tax. Let’s see if the product worth it!
Yves Saint Laurent Couture Variation Nude Palette contains 10 colors which make it cost $9,5 without tax per each color. That’s a good deal taking into consideration the regular single YSL eyeshadow price – $30 without tax.
The high price of a makeup product is justified if you use it a lot. Even if you like the product, but it just sits in your drawer and you forgot about it, that means it was wasted money! Unfortunately, you realize it too late to return it. But not with Nordstrom: there’s no time frame to return or exchange a makeup item if you kept the receipt. This is not sponsored by Nordstrom (unfortunately). I’m just giving you my lifehack.
I’ve been using Yves Saint Laurent Couture Variation Nude Palette for two weeks and I can confirm that I got back to it many times. Unlike Chanel Les Indispensables Palette, YSL Couture Variation Nude Palette has many shimmery nude colors: light orange, silver taupe, olive grey, silver mauve, gold-orange and silver grey. The lightest matte beige color on the left I use as powder aroung my eyes on top of the concealer. Medium matte chocolate color makes a great eyeliner! There are many ways how those shimmery and matte colors can be combined.
For this look, I used the light orange color on my lids, gold-orange in crease and medium matte chocolate color as an eyeliner. A simple natural look that can be created in 10-15 minutes.
For natural-looking eyelashes, I used my favorite brown mascara Chanel Inimitable mascara 30 Noir-Brun.
As highlighter, I used Chanel 2019 Holiday Collection Highlighter in Metal PeachFor my lips, I used Chanel Rouge Coco Flash 208 Lumiere
For my eyebrows, I used Chanel Brow Powder Duo 40 Naturel.
